Well I caught a little wave of water yesterday in the cvt intake while crossing about a foot of water. LOL... no problem. I just put it in neutral to blow out the water and putted home. It dried out just fine. No debris in the cvt. I checked. I was surpirsed though to find out that our cvt's. I wonder if we can make one...hmmmm. I might need to come up with a snorkel for the intake at least. Th exhaust for the cvt is pretty high up there. Also question for you guys. might seem silly but the air intake. I would assume it gets air from the canister but was looking at it and didn't see any openings.

Hi Joe! :Seya:

What if a plug was made for it? Would the belt temps go up? Also after deep water just uplug the plug to make sure no water leaked in. Just ponderin... :hdscrh:

The canister has a little nipple on it. The air seems to go through this. I herd the diesels have a second intake but have not had time to track it down of if it's just rumors.

Me thinks that is the engine air cleaner WOEII. The CVT snorkel is on the other side.:Chers:

looking at the air filter canister how does air get in?? May be a silly question. lol.

Also, the cvt case has no drain plug on it, unless I missed something.

If you look right at the base of the cap looking deal (big end with rubber drain in it) there are slots around where it mates with the housing.

If you look under the passenger seat the air cleaner actually sucks air in through a tube in there. The rubber piece is a dust unloading valve. Thats how my 620i was. There is another thread on here showing how the extended the cvt intake up behind the drivers seat to keep it from getting a bunch of dust in the clutches.

I found it...little tube under the passenger seat by the cannister. As for the cvt drain plug. someone told me about a tire valve stem. Drill a small hole and insert the valve stem with the core out so it can drain. I might try this and let you all know.
