forgot to add Its a 2000 model 6x4,,, My concern is that when the motor is revving up and the gator is moving there is a period of time in the belt and clutches travel where the belt is loose enough...
My diesel gator really torques the engine towards the tranny when revved up. is there suppose to be a spreader bar that keeps that from happening? all the motor mounts are fine
Well it is and came off fine with a little extra grunt
Old thread but I wired my fan to a wire that is hot when the switch is on, stays on all the time when the engine is running, mine had the same issues as yours

Can this be done with our secondary clutch?? I have found a video about setting a secondary clutch like ours on a snowmobile to increase spring pressure and adjust shifts, I live where it is steep...
Once the clutch engages at all the noise goes away, only at idle does it make the rattling sound. And it is for sure the primary clutch, the one mounted on the engine crankshaft.
The bolt holding the secondary clutch on,,, it is a standard counter clockwise to loosen bolt is it not??? Mine seems awfully tight and I want to be sure before taking it on again.
The old clutch lost the parts and stuck in the closed position, the new clutch seems to have quietened down some,,, I think part of the difference is that the old clutch had not been completely...

I'll get some the next day or 2 ,,, all done now except the upper radiator line
switched the motor mounts, oil pan and oil pickup, have to get a new gator water pump and should be good to go
oh ya had to switch the exaust manifold as well, intake will work just fine
Well I got the 68 motor, looks like it should be a pretty easy fit
well the water pump looks the same so no problem with the coolant lines, the throttle cable will need to be re-angled but my existing brackets should handle that, air intake looks the same from the...
I cant be the only one that has replaced a whole gator diesel motor? The 3TN66 in mine has 3 shot pistons and a ruined head, It could be cheaper to replace the whole motor,,, have found a 3TN66...
I'll get some images, right now it is a really clean 6x4 gator on jack stands without a motor,,,,
Hello all, I just bought a used gator that has a bad motor. The 3TN66 that is in it has a badly cracked head and 3 ruined pistons, the block and the rest of the motor seem fine, and the rest of the...
