Post Some Pics Of the RSX850i Undercarriage Protection System.

Here is a picture from front to rear. Seems to be a large durable plastic cut out.

    Rear to front.

    Side view.

The plastic does have precut holes so things can be serviced.

Looks like the oil drain plug.

Is that standard on the trail and sport model or is that aftermarket. If so, where do you get it? I would guess that might be UHMW?

it should bee an 1/2 to 1 inch larger on each side to protect the frame completely.

I am dissapointed in a plastic skidplate!!! I had the 825i and traded it in for 850i under assumption that it was ready for trail. I will tell you right now that this thin piece of plastic will not protect anything underneath from rocks, sticks, etc. The only thing it is good for is to keep most mud and water from splashing too bad against the motor etc. I ordered the aluminum replacement skidplate. Hopefully it is a bit more rigid!

It is very ridged and will not dent or rust like steel. I have hit a pretty good size rock already and barely scratched it.

I would certainly pick plastic over aluminum. The plastic should slide easily over rocks and other obstructions and at about 1/4" thick it's strong enough to take the abuse.
