Eagle setup on mine, works very well. I put a 750 pounds in the bed and get plenty of traction. Use the winch in warmer months to get unstuck or pull logs/rocks loose.

This looks like too much fun!
I showed it to my wife and she said she was glad we don't live far from a hospital....but she did agree to try it after the next good snow!

My setup is an Eagle plow with a Promark winch, the whole setup (plow, mount, push tube and winch) was only about $750. As you can see from the pics, my system mounts to the front subframe. I looked...
I check in - sadly the 6x4 section is not a real active. What can I help with?

I wish JD made cars and trucks. I am sure they would be practical, reliable and easy to service.

No problem at all, they are 55 watt bulbs and even with the top lamps and the headlamps on at the same time, the battery does not get run down. Sorry for the late reply, I have not been on the forum...
It is a Mauser cab that came with the Gator when I bought it. The only downside is that the previous owner got rid of the doors and they are serious ca$h to replace. I will probably fab up some doors...
Before applying the brakes, put the transmission in neutral. If it still feels like it is "pushing" than probably the brakes are so bad they are just not grabbing.
My 6x4 had noisy brakes that...
I hope you will keep us updated on what you do. I may eventually be looking at that Honda engine swap.

I did a little research on plowing with a 6x4 before I bought the plow . Google searches...
I would like to know how you wind up doing the repair. My 6x4 has a cracked front hood and I would love to make the repair myself rather than buy a whole new piece. Please post up some pics of how...
When I got my 6x4, the brakes made AWFUL noises! I did not want to split the gearcase and replace the brakes, too time consuming and too expen$ive. I also noted that noisy brakes were a common...
Just got a plow for our 6x4 a few weeks ago: very curious to see how it plows. Yours seems to be doing fine at plowing. The stacks do sound pretty good too!

Yours came out very nice, but it looks like your Gator frame was originally painted, I think my frame was powder coated. I am starting to wonder if mine was driven through something caustic/corrosive...
My 2007 Gator is rusty. I believe the previous owner frequently drove this machine in deep mud, never washed it, and stored it outside.
You can see in this picture (thats my wife who LOVES this...
Thanks for the welcome!
Wow! And I thought I had rust problems! Very nice rebuild and the camo looks great. Guess I will have to get in the 6x4 forum and start asking questions...

Bought a beat up 2007 gas 6x4 a few months ago. I thought the 6 wheels were "cool." I originally thought I would fix it up and resell it after playing with it for awhile, but the Gator has turned out...
