upload the photos to a website like photobucket or tinypic. Then copy the IMG code and paste it when selecting add image by quick reply.

To post a pic you put the url for the image between [IMG] url for image [/IMG] so the image is actually displayed rather than a link...
If you use the insert image icon above text box, the forum sw will add the IMG tags for you. If you copy from a photo host (I use smug mug) you can copy the links and it is included as well.

Real easy to click on the link above, the seventh one from the right. Then locate the photo on your computer and upload:
