Eagle Snow Plow and Warn XT30 Winch

Hello Everyone, I bought a new Eagle Plow and Warn XT30 Winch for my 825i. $599 for the plow, winch plate, push bar and mounting plate for the Gator. I picked the Winch up on line for $449 compared to $699 from John Deere. I have $1050 total into a snow plow. I like that. It only takes about 30 seconds to attach once you take the intial 6 hours or so to install and put it together. Ugh! Don't even try to fit the winch plate and winch into the opening. Take the bumper off and put it on that way. It will save you time and aggravation. I also had to grind a little bit of metal off where the mounting plate attaches to the push bar. It was off just a hair to get the pin in. Overall very happy especially for the price. It also came with markers and a rubber flap that I didn't expect.

The winch shows to cost more. But once you add it to the cart it shows the discounted price.

And it is all American Made. Gotta love that.

Sorry guys. I tried to attach 9 pics but it won't work. Looks like a software problem.

    Here's your gator porn. :)

I think my pictures were too big. I rescaled them and it seems to be working. As soon as I put the plow away it started snowing. It was odd because it was to warm to stay. Maybe an omen of a good winter coming. If anyone has questions feel free to ask.

    msutherlund,
With your full winshield can you still open the storage compartment with the little hinge thing in the window? I'm also looking at an eagle plow, but I'm looking at the 72" vblade.

    Thanks

Looks great - I see that you have the brush guard bumper - the Eagle mounting plate fits OK with the bumper/skid plate? And the winch mount attaches to the four holes on the front of the bumper? I'm looking at a much less expensive winch that seems to get pretty high marks - Grip Tools 3000 lb 12 Volt Electric ATV Winch 28770 - it goes for $60., but the mounting holes are 3.1" x 5.1" Any thoughts on that? I'm also looking at the 72-inch plow - and maybe the County Plow version. Would appreciate anyone's advice at this point.

I too got my Warn XT-30 winch online for under $450 like the original poster did...I also bought a reciever mount so that I can mount it either front or back, as the need arises...I know Warn winches are priced pretty high because they have a history of being one of the best of the best, as well as being American made...the cost of the winch you are thinking about scares me a bit...at $60, it actually scares me alot...even if it did get high marks, there is a reason that it only costs $60...it has to be cheaply made...it might work great a few times, but will it last as long as you own your Gator???....that's what I would be concerned with....will it fail just when you need it the most???....

You have to buy what you can afford, and buy what suits you...no-one can tell you anything about that...but, we can give opinions on different choices...I believe if it were me, I'd start saving my money and look for a better made winch, like a SuperWinch...they are great winches and cost quite a bit less than the Warn's that I looked at...there are a couple others that are comparably prices as the SuperWinch units too that get rave reviews....I'd really hate to see you throw $60 at something that you will always be thinking it might fail on you at the wrong time...

Take care and good luck with your purchases....
