Check the tension of your fan belt.

The belt that drives the alternator. I used fan belt as a generic term. There have been others on the forum who have had the same problem and fixed it by tightening the belt.

makes sense but when gator warms up the noise stops would that still be the belt?

See my post in XUV Tech. (Squeaking V- Belt) I had the same thing - a squick squeal at start-up along with a chirp after it warmed up. It is gone now. Tighten belt tension and if that doesn't work, and you are getting any chirping or squeaking change belt direction.

Motor. Remove safety cover 2- 10mm bolts and listen closely to verify where it's coming from. Loosen alternator - 2 bolts- top and bottom. I used a hammer handle to pry the alternator over to get the belt plenty tight. I think a pulley is slipping at start-up causing the belt to squeal. I hope this helps.

I'm glad to hear its a belt and not something more serious. I was wondering if the cams were getting enough oil or something like a dry bearing ?? Glad to hear its just a belt, something I'll fix this summer.

Just make sure you didn't run over a baby pig and it's stuck up near the shock mount...I did that once and he squealed everytime the wheels moved and rubbed his little nuts against the brake rotor....

Always eliminate the easy stuff first, I say....
