    putting a Yanmar 3TNE68 in a 3TN66 4x6 gator ?????

Hello all, I just bought a used gator that has a bad motor. The 3TN66 that is in it has a badly cracked head and 3 ruined pistons, the block and the rest of the motor seem fine, and the rest of the Gator is in very good condition. I am having a hard time finding either a used replacement head for less than $500 or a running or parts 3TN66 that I can either swap in or use for parts. I have however found a Yanmar
3TNE68 in good running condition that would up the horse power a couple of horses. How difficult would this motor be to fit or is it even possible?? The guy with the motor says it should work,,, it's a few hours away from me and i have not made the trip yet, was hoping for some advice,,

Welcome to the Forum...i don't have a clue about your engine swap, but there are a few fellows on here that are John Deere Gator experts with the mechanicals of them and I am sure one of them will see your post and give you an answer...we like pics of here, no matter what style or year Gator you have, so if you get a chance, post up some pics of your Gator...we like progress tech pics a bunch, so if you do the engine swap, that information might be valuable to someone later on...that's what makes this Forum a cool place!!!

Good luck on getting it up and running again!!!
