DO you need a special permit or anything to ride on the beach there ? I can take my truck and jeep on the beach here but no Gators.

CaptDan You need a $12 beach permit...other than that nothing. The roads on Padre Island Corpus Christi and the beaches allow Golfcart type vehicles. The reason I bought the 550 s4 is because it means all the criteria of a golfcart as far as power. The roads on the Island are all 30 mph and the 550 s4 Max speed is 28 so it's perfect. The 550 s4 double side by side allows me to take my grandkids along. It has safty belts bench seats so I can do it safely and 4wd is great to explore the beaches.

Ha Ha! there is a warrant out for me in Nueces county (Corpus) for failure to appear on a charge of "allowing an unlicensed person to drive" a six wheel amphibious ATV. My brother was about 12 yo and we were cutting donuts on the beach. Hope they don't come extradite me back to 1966 for trial.
