Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a Powertach Snow Plow. Powertach snow plows are sold by John Deere dealers. A Powertach snow plow is made by Brinley Corporation.

My Gator is a 2007 XUV 850D with deluxe cab and heater. I've added a WickedBilt power steering kit to the unit as well.

After using the Powertach snow plow for around 30 minutes the lights start to dim and the plow goes up way too slow.

I spoke with Brinley / Powertach. They told me there's a new relay and wiring harness for my plow that incorporates heavier amperage relays. I am waiting for the new harness to arrive. At this juncture, I do not see the new harness helping.

Isn't a larger output alternator the answer? My Gator came stock with a 40 amp output. With the lights on, heater running, power steering, and plow going it would seem to be too much for the alternator output?

Thanks for your comments,
Mark
