    JD 855D 2" Lift Installation

Has anybody done this install? I got the 2" aluminum pucks from SUPER ATV. How do you get the springs off? Spring compressor? I have a set but their too big.

Yeah, spring compressors. I picked up a pair that worked good from Harbour Freight. Pull the spring off, put the spacer on, compress the spring some more and reinstall, put spring retention ring on, remove compressors, reinstall shocks. Takes about 30 minutes per shock.

I used same HF tool, but I did a little grinding to make them work better (was tight fit in/out of springs).

    Also added CV guards

JD had 12% off on parts so ordered guards from Green Farms Parts.

The guards work great, it can be a pain to clean the mud out of them but other than that it's all win.

I have been REALLY wanting to level out my gator for quite some time but I'm worried about handling afterwards. I'm so pleased with the way she tears up trails that I'm afraid of messing that up. Anyone have any post leveling kit installation trail riding experience?

I installed 2" lift on the front of my 855D, I don't do alot of hard trail riding. But in the woods around the house I've noticed alot stiffer ride. I adjusted the shocks to the softest setting but it is still alot stiffer than stock.
