    Fuel pump keeps running

I have a 1999 6x4. When you turn the key on, the fuel pump turns on which makes sense....but it does not seem to shut off. Starts right away and runs fine....just seems odd the pump would keep running when the engine is not.
    Is this normal?

    thanks!

I don't know that vehicle specifically but it is common for the electric fuel pump to run whenever the ignition switch is in the run position. Even on my diesel equipment the pump can be heard running when the key is in the run position.

Thanks...maybe nothing to worry about. Just thought it would build up pressure and stop.
