Heavyc, welcome to the Forum! living in Buffalo NY you do need an 825i, praying it will have a heated cab, lots of lights, big tires and extra gas! While a member of the Marine Corps I just happened to be in Buffalo on Friday January 28, 1977! Early that morning they got hit with about 5" of snow, nothing to people there! At 1100 hours the blizzard hit, holy cow! Temperature plummeted to near zero with winds off from Erie peaking at 69-73 MPH, chill factor -60! Upto the blizzard Buffalo had all ready had 150" of snow with 33" still on the ground that had not been removed. From the news that day I recall nearly half of the plow trucks were down, could not keep up with the blizzard and winds. Most of the 59" of snow during the blizzard had blown in of from Erie. I remember trying to get out of the Federal Building located at 111 West Huron Street, left about 1000 hours heading to Niagara Air Base. Only made it to a town called Tonawanda. Ended up staying with the Marine Recruiters there for ONE SOLID WEEK! There was a pub next door that the owners were stranded at, thank God! No charge for food or drink, we lived well! Never forget that storm!

I guess at 12 years old all that snow would be fun! As a Marine nearing 30 with places to be and a mission that need completion I was not a happy camper! Well I take some of that back, once stranded at the pub I did get somewhat happier! I was stranded with about 5 other Marines and a bunch of really great folks. I have many fond memories of the Buffalo area. Any time I was in that area I would visit a small bar near in the Williamsville area. The bar was called, "The Rose Garden" and owned by former Marine Bill Miner. Wow what fun we had! Memories of Buffalo.
