    This happened as a business but I did call the insurance property prior to buying my Gator and they said it is covered under personal property on homeowner's insurance.

    You are real lucky if that's the case. Up here we have to insure it like a truck or car on its own policy. I pay 38.00 a month for full coverage. Collision ,public liability and comprehensive (fire and theft)

    Around here they are classified as utility vehicles. ATV's and golf carts are separately regulated so no mandatory insurance or even titling unlike ATV's. There are no rules about driving on private property but technically not allowed to drive on roads unless a farm vehicle. Net, no insurance required and when I called the insurance company they said it is covered under homeowner's. If I was running a farm, it may be a different story.
